About Us

Kristin Yarman, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC

I’m Kristin Yarman, the owner of Carter Telehealth. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Morehead State University in 2011. After graduation, I worked as a critical care RN in the medicine ICU and progressive care units at UK Chandler Medical Center for four years. In 2015, I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with my Master of Science in Nursing degree, with a specialty in family medicine. I am board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). As a nurse practitioner, I have worked throughout eastern Kentucky in both family medicine and express care clinics.

I currently live in Carter County, Kentucky with my husband and our four children. I’m a nurse practitioner and a stay-at-home-mom. In 2020, I was working part-time when I was furloughed very early on in the pandemic. Since that time, I’ve searched off and on for a position that would allow me to work at my own pace and set my own schedule, so I could still raise my children and keep my family a priority. After a long, disappointing search, I decided to take matters into my own hands and open my own practice.

At my previous place of employment, I would see parents bring their children into the clinic and wait 2-3 hours to be seen, only to need a school excuse for an illness that they knew was viral. During their wait they were all exposed to several illnesses from others in the waiting room, and many had to miss work or spend their entire evening in our clinic. As a provider and a mother, I saw a problem and made it my goal to find a solution and make it easier for my patients and their families.

With all this in mind, Carter Telehealth was created. So now, you can skip the long waits at traditional clinics and see a provider without leaving your house, car, or work.

My goals for this practice are to increase access to care for the people of Kentucky, provide affordable healthcare, and to help patients and caregivers by providing convenient and quality care.

My practice was created with patients in mind. We are here for YOU.

Carter Telehealth’s Appointment Cancellation Policy

Scroll down to agree to the policy below.

1. Please note that Carter Telehealth requires a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, this includes same day appointments. This will allow us the opportunity to provide care to another patient. Failure to cancel or reschedule your appointment prior to this time will result in a $25 cancellation fee, charged to the card on file.

2. Unfortunately, a “No-Show” or missed appointment, without the proper 24-hour notification will also result in a $25 cancellation fee. We apologize for any inconvenience.

3. If you are 15 or more minutes late for your appointment, you will be considered a “No Show” and the appointment will be cancelled. If you are having trouble logging in and/or know you will be late, please call or text the office at 606-225-4443 to let the provider know and see how they can assist you.

4. As a courtesy, you will receive an appointment reminder call/text/email one day prior to your appointment. Please note, if a courtesy reminder is not received, the cancellation policy remains in effect. The reminder is a courtesy, not a condition to the cancellation policy.

5. Providers at Carter Telehealth are licensed to practice within the state of Kentucky ONLY. For this reason, the patient must be in the state of Kentucky at the time of the telehealth visit or the appointment will be cancelled. A $25 processing fee will be applied to the card on file.

6. If the provider must cancel for any reason, you will be refunded the full amount of the prepayment. Please understand that if/when it happens, we are regretfully cancelling and apologize for any inconvenience it may cause you.
